Dr. Sébastien Bélanger is a Full Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Huazhong Agricultural University, and a tenured research scientist at Hubei Hongshan Laboratory. The laboratory is recruiting for two postdoctoral positions. Successful candidates will investigate small RNA (sRNA) pathways that govern cereal development and fertility under temperature stress, as well as pursue biotechnological engineering and translational application of these pathways. Huazhong Agricultural University is a national key university directly administered by the Ministry of Education, with outstanding research strengths in crop science and plant breeding. 二、研究项目

II. Research Projects

研究项目一（1人）：温度胁迫下花药发育的小 RNA 调控机制，研究大麦、水稻在高温、低温胁迫条件下，包括生殖期相位小干扰 RNA（phasiRNAs）在内的小 RNA 通路如何调控花药发育与花粉生成，探究谷物对温带、热带气候的生殖适应性。

Project 1 (1 position): sRNA regulatory mechanisms underlying anther development under temperature stress. This project aims to understand how sRNA pathways (including reproductive phased secondary small interfering RNAs, phasiRNAs) regulate anther development and pollen production in barley and rice exposed heat and cold stress. It addresses reproductive adaptation of cereal crops to temperate and tropical climates.

研究项目二（1人）：水稻花药中24-nt相位小干扰RNA（phasiRNA）的生成与作用机制，利用现有突变体开展表型与分子鉴定，解析靶标基因如何调控发育花药中 phasiRNA 的生成及功能；同时评估突变体是否存在环境敏感型基因雄性不育特性。

Project 2 (1 position): Mechanisms of 24‑nt phasiRNAs biogenesis and functional in rice anthers. This project combines phenotypic and molecular characterization of several available mutants to determine how target genes regulate phasiRNA biogenesis and function in developing anthers. It will also assess whether mutants exhibit environmentally sensitive genic male sterility.

博士后须独立主持上述一个研究项目，并指导学生开展实验工作。

The appointed postdoctoral fellow will independently lead one of the above‑listed research projects and supervise graduate students in experimental research.

III. Eligibility Criteria

2. Diligent, responsible, self‑motivated and driven; demonstrate great passion for scientific research and a strong sense of accountability; possess good communication skills and team spirit, alongside dedication to in‑depth research.

3.年龄不超过35周岁，获得植物分子生物学、细胞生物学、遗传学相关专业博士学位，有基因组学及其他组学研究背景者优先考虑；

3. Applicants shall be no older than 35 years of age, and hold a PhD degree in plant molecular biology, cell biology, genetics or related disciplines. Candidates with expertise in genomics or other omics approaches are preferred.

4.以一作或通讯作者身份在相关研究领域国际主流学术期刊发表过高质量论文，具备独立研究的能力，具有生物信息学、高通量表型分析或显微成像工作经验者优先考虑。

4. Have published high‑quality research articles as first or corresponding author in reputable international journals of the relevant field, and demonstrate capacity for independent research. Prior hands‑on experience in bioinformatics, high‑throughput phenotyping or microscopic imaging is highly desirable.
